Core Design Principles

• Text-First: The writing is the product. No intrusive UI or unnecessary animations.
• Knowledge Graph: Entries connect through bidirectional backlinks and taxonomies.
• Zero Tracking: No Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, no telemetry cookies.
• Decadal Longevity: Built on standard PostgreSQL and portable Markdown files that can be exported or read anywhere.
• Permanent URLs: Every URL is permanent and canonical.

Privacy & Embargo Protocol

Some reflections require time to mature or involve sensitive contexts that should not be public immediately. The journal supports three states:

1. Public: Immediately accessible, syndicated via RSS, and indexed in search.
2. Embargoed: Time-locked until a future date, automatically promoted to public when the date arrives.
3. Private: Gated in the private vault, never exposed to feeds or search indexes.
